Here's the PVE build I run when I pve on my necro. I believe the credit goes to Genius...

i used a similar build to that when t3 came out and i was in pvp server

probably right, I just don't do much PVE on my necro. So far, that build was adequate. And I haven't changed it in probably a year. I play around with my pvp builds but just leave the other build alone. I guess I should probably try one of these updated pve builds now too....


Everyonce in a while I do Graphik's 79 point build too....I'm still amazed when I can run around with zero feat points spent and still get get double digit kills in minis haha

I'll admit it, the pet aspect of necro is a mystery to me. I don't know which pets are best in what situation.
This is also the first time I hear that despoil the soul is better in t3 than caster pets. I thought since the nightfall nerf it was no good O.o (that's how old my necro is haha, it's just one of my numerous alts that I haven't played much.)

However IF I were interested in taking it to t3 what would you suggest then?

I take it the single target builds posted earlier would be good for K6 HMs?

Like noite80 said. 2 blighted one and 6 corrupters\mutilators are the best meleepet setup. In most raids the necro is in a group with a conq or\and a ToS. With these group-buffs meleepets are better than casterpets and DtS.
Also pets with the right feats have lower hate, than a necro with DtS, therefor he can do more dmg without taking aggro.

what is it with some people and putting points in general tree? Minus hate feats? your tanks are lousy if you need to feat general for minus hate, rip a new one for the tanks and tell them to play better.

Yea, I've never personally understood the point of using general in a PvE build as a mage. Sure, you can make a case for it in PvP, but in PvE, you're gimping yourself. Just my opinion though.

see this is why I asked LOL. I have only done a handful of pve instances since 80 so I don't know most of the 'PVE' builds. I run DTS all the time in PVP unless I'm trolling.... then I run bombs and torment my guildies :P

If I even mention that I use General in guild chat, Genius laughs at me and calls me bad.

Although I did see Graphik use a full General tree, 0 Nightfall/Reanimation build before :X
