This patch will see the introduction of a permanent World Raid Boss PvE system.
This system will work very similarly to the anniversary raid bosses.
There will be 12 bosses in total, some you might have encountered before during the anniversary event some totally new (and yes we have removed the Kraken from Khemi). Each boss will be set to spawn during a 1 week period each month (a different boss each month) and will have spawn locations distributed over either 1 or 2 outdoor adventure playfields.
We have the ability to determine on the fly the cycles these bosses will spawn in, but currently we are looking at each boss starting to spawn on the first Wednesday of every month with the boss spawning up until the end of the following Tuesday.
One exception here is the starting month, where we are looking at our first boss making an appearance on the 25th of December and the 2nd boss following immediately after on the 1st of January.
Bosses are designed so that any player of any level range (providing they have access to the corresponding playfield) can participate and rewards will drop for any player providing they have been registered by the boss and are still in the playfield when its killed. From a technical perspective this works by taking everyone on the bosses threat list every minute and one final time when it dies, so as long as you stay alive for at least 1 minute on that hatelist you will be getting loot. This is a major improvement over what you might have experienced during the anniversary event.
Each boss will drop item caches (similar to the anniversary bosses) so expect social items, vanity gear, potions, pets and lower tier raid items. There are also epic versions of these item caches which can also drop (actually guaranteed to drop if a certain number of players are present) and provide better rewards (T3 tokens and some new alternate T3 budget weapons, accessories and some very rare pets to be specific). The main reward however comes from killing all 12 bosses, where we are excited to announce the return of the legendary tier! You can find out more about this loot over on the Test Live forums.
I don't want to spoil the fun and tell you what these bosses will be and where they will all be spawning, but look out for hints closer to their respective spawn dates and also from the quest giver when he makes his appearance outside Tarantia's Great Library.
