Thread: Its time to give pvp T1 to all PvP 0's

  1. #31

Default Get your gear without PvP!

Are you sure that exactly the lack of gear impede you become good in PvP? In this case, you need to go to the border kingdom of Cimeria. In this place you'll be able to dig resources and sacrifice them on the altars to the Picts god, called, Bori. Will succeed much faster if you do it in a group of 4-6 people. In this way you will get PvP levels, AA and tokens for PvP armor.

Would be much more logical to just give the noobs free t1 pvp gear instead of relying on them farming bori for hours wouldn't you say?

Besides bori is boring. Having new people having to farm that so they get decent pvp gear is just insanly stupid as it will most likely put alot of new pvpers off.

Yeah. Everything went to **** the moment they added Bori - get the highest pvp xp gain by picking rocks without having to fight anyone - instead of doing what we are requesting.

I just wanted to remind that such opportunity exists.

    Actually, there are two options:
    1) you can go straight to the mini with fresh toon, get raped, but to prove that you're a real PvP-er with iron nerves;
    2) you can go to Bori and quickly obtain few PvP levels and gear to feel more complete.

My personal opinion is that to blame here is the psychological moment rather than gear. Always and everywhere, everyone wants to kill you, if you have low PvP level. Even experienced PvP-rs who have tried fresh toons can confirm it. From this point of view, for newcomers more likely can help raising of PvP level.

But, see, that's the problem. When you see someone with blue gear, which looks different from pvp gear, so you know that player has less armour and no protection, so you know he will die very easily, it's not fair, and cheesy for the one(s) who kill him.

New players/characters, with no pvp levels, should be able to buy PvP T1 gear right off the bat, and not be in a stupid disadvantage. I understand the sense of progression in PvP, so there are small improvements when you get better gear, and it looks different as well, but the difference shouldn't be as big as to be useless and, on top of that, farmed to oblivion because of it.

Progression and grinding makes sense in PvE, but not in PvP (to that extent). Coming from several other multiplayer games in the past, I had never seen anything like this before. PvP should be about skills, not grind.

Agreed, other pvp onlinegames focus their progression on ranked matches. You show off with your ranking (no im not talking about pvplevel). Basing a pvp game on gear advantages is so lame.

Being a beginner at pvp (or the game alltogether) is already a huge disvantage that alone is making people quit, the gear and AA grind ontop of that is just terrible design to get people staying.

Funcom could simply remove the pvp level requirement for t1 pvp gear. Easy and it would drastically improve the game for new players. Next step is installing a simple anti cheat and we will be good to go.

    Stabubad - Sin : Fatpom - Pom : Isoldethora - Rangernoez

    - PVP T1 ingame buyable up from PVP-Level 0
    - allow vanity gear in minigames (workaround atm is transformation...)
    - hide pvp-level

Would make minigames much more beginner friendly.

Yes they should defenitely remove the levelcap, but they should also give it out for free, farming those tokens is also a grind.

Thing is with anticheat... its very costy to keep it updated. When ESL (a esport tournament organizer) made one it cost then several milions. If you suggest to just implement a simple one, then there will be new cheats from the creators in a matter of hours ( if they want to, but since many pay per month for their cheats in conan atm i guess the creators are still active with it)

Anyway im just procrastinating studies, nothing will be done about it
