Funcom's Inactive Name Policy?

Hey, I was going to start a petition to ask about this question, but thought that maybe the forums would be a better place to start. My question is, what is funcom's policy on inactive names? If you request a GM to free up a specific name that is inactive (for example, if the name has been inactive for 2+ years), could they free it up so you could create a character with that name?

I know of some other MMO's that follow this policy (World of Warcraft being the most popular), and it would be nice to get the name you've been hoping to get for your character (especially if you are into role-playing).

Anyone have any insight into this subject?

I had direct interaction with a GM that had, in-fact, helped with this issue. I was able to gain one name; but this was a few years back.

It was few years ago, right now Funcom have "Inactive Everything" Policy

If anyone is wondering, the GM did in fact free up my requested name. Question solved.

Yes they can do it. Needs to meet a few requirements tho such as f2p, last online on xx name and if account been used in xx period. I had 5 names freed up for me after free transfer.

Either way works. Live chat is usually quicker though.
