Default Age of conan directx 11 graphics

Dreamworld graphics engine is one of the most powerful graphics engine of the world and I was wondering if they (Funcom technicians and graphic designers) could provide us with much better graphics than directx 9 - 10 like directx 11. Don't forget that many other Companies had upgraded their games for example Turbine with its game Lord of The Rings Online.

This could be more fascinating for gamers that plays Conan and for the newcomers.

    Okay, I'll bite.

It already has DX10. And DX11 is backwards compatible with 10.

It's just a little bit broken for some people at the moment though.

Sorry mate, DX11 isn't gonna happen in AoC ,

GAWD! I miss "Your Voice" ~ such initiative is all but dead here. NAH ... It's dead.

Even with DX10; the game is night a day between 9 and 10 and still looks really good by comparison to many other MMOs.

Yeah. I'm still curious to know what they would add with dx11.

That's easy. Look at the difference between DX10 in AoC and DX11 in TSW. As in, the options available in each game.

The big feature would be tessellation, I believe.

Tessellation would have to be manually added.

I just don't see porting AoC to DX11 as feasible. When they're done with the AO port, they sorely need to focus on the Dreamengine as a whole. TSW is still a mess with DX11+Win8+nvidia.

Joel has answered this, he says there's nobody to code it for dx11.

I assume that they would back port the version of Dreamworld used for TSW. So AoC would 'inherit' DX11 support via this mechanism.

But that doesn't help much if Funcom don't have the resources to port the engine back into the AoC codebase. It may not even be possible to.
