Thread: Latency for the moved EU server - post your ping

    This is depressing to read. I have just pinged funcom.com and ageofconan.com at this morning hour, and I got the average of 195ms.
    I shall check the game in the evening (my previous ping was from 80ms (morning) to 160ms (busy evening)).

    How would one PVP with an assassin with that lag?
    Seems like a large surge of European and Asian people leaving the game is ahead, much to my dismay.
    • Remove daily rewards and the raid finder;
    • remove membership bonuses;
    • disable PVE XP for daily challenges;
    • remove WBs forever on Crom;
    • slow down the AA gain;
    • lower the PVP XP gain or remove the streak system;
    • remove AoE looting;
    • add the missing mobs back to Khesh., F. of the Dead, and Eigl. Mount.;
    • fix the 250+ms ping;
    • take the key away from Saddur;
    • revert T3, T3.5 (10.21.15), T4 (10.21.15), and GGG changes;
    • remove energy and add skills (like taunt) back.

    High ping and aoc netcode never were good friends. It cant handle it. Fast chars like sin or barb with speedbuff were teleporting even with 50 ping. Was always a problem. Now the same bad netcode shall handle doubled/tripled ping. Wont work.

    For the ppl alwaya having high pings: well fine for you. But you dont have other options do you? Ppl from europe do have them. Why shall they pay for a game with such a ping when about hundreds of other games offer a better multiyplayer experience from technical point of view?
    My experience with ping in aoc is, that having bad ping yourself isnt that bad in pvp. You will still see your target acting kinda smooth. But your target will see you lagging making it harder to hit you then the other way round. So even if you had bad ping all the time game experience could get worse because most ppl will be laging.

    40 ms in EU -> 140 ms in US this morning.

    Gameplay is fine and tested up to 300 ms which is also playable in casual solo PvE. Dl in background.

    Got first raid tomorrow will come back with how that went, but I guess this place be flooded with feedback by then by todays raiders.

    300 latency is good for me nowadays.

    I have to test it more today because there was very few people online yesterday after downtime.

    Even though I did couple duels and played few minis. It wasn't as smooth as I'm used to (latency was jumping from 135-195ms and before moving I was experiencing 60-120), there is slight delay when i use skills and combos (compared to what was before), BUT overall it seems to be still playable.

    It seems like kiting just got much easier (which is bad especially for melee characters) and you can't react that fast (still it was late night so that could be me xD).

    As I said before, will report more later!

    A friend of mine tested it in the morning (she has much better ping than I):

    before the relocation - 40-80ms in the evenings;
    after the relocation - 150-250ms in the morning.
    • Remove daily rewards and the raid finder;
    • remove membership bonuses;
    • disable PVE XP for daily challenges;
    • remove WBs forever on Crom;

    I played the game with 250ms for more than 2 years on pvp servers doing pvp. Last year my country's ping improved I guess it was around 100ms and was a lot better experience. Now again it's up to 250ms :/ Will wait a month for merges to complete with fixes etc then decide to go on playing or not.
