If funcom decided to do a Kickstarter for aoc (hint hint) if any of the devs are listening? With a little bit of advertising from henryx or anyone who would be onboard? To get some scope of how many would be onboard and to let the devs know how much we all love this dimond in the rough. Jesus I haven't event got back into the game yet but I want the future for us to be bloodier than ever

Unless you like unfinished titles which is what Funcom seem to specialise in.
Publicly traded companies can't use kickstarter. If they wanted to develop AOC they would, they haven't cared about it for many years (even when it was their high profiting game). They spent the last year making the game totally unplayable and have now pulled the pin, I actually appreciate that.
Even if they tried this, I bet the money would not go towards Aoc.
To even start, they would need a new Game Director.
Then they would need to hire a new team for artists, devs, designers, qa etc...
Their strategy is not to spend on this game at all.
They would probably just take the money you donated and invest it into Conan Exiles or into one of their other games.
AoC is dead for them, they do not care anymore, they will let it rot until it's over. There is no future for AoC, we are at the end.
Iam one of the few that still have hope. And people who bash the game and haunt the forums doomsaying are the reason why a lot of new player turn away because the don't want to help repair a sinking ship they jump off with the rest of them
Hope for what exactly? The last dev letter was april 2016. Nothing is being done with the game.. no new maps, no new dungeons, areas expansions nothing.. its done..Quote:

I think it applies to this situation.
Everyone here, all the naysayers, doomsayers, retired people cared and care deeply about this game, but they realize that hoping for things with a company that sticks it's head in the sand and refuses to do the bare minimum of communication, who only release mindless farmbait for "content" and have made it clear AoC means nothing to them is exactly like that euphanism.
This boat was sinking 4 years ago. It could have been salvaged then, Funcom chose not to salvage. The best thing to do now is enjoy what time there is left.
The games still active isn't it !?!? It's not done just because the have no planned content doesn't mean it's over I mean Christ Conan exiles is just a survival game when it's launched officially they won't need all the staff they have that are designing and developing the game. All there focus is on that till its up and running on its own and there still generating a lot of money from aoc. So Odontoceti see it being done for a long while yet. Even if it was a number of small add ons I would be happy adding small new factions or new quest lines etc. Nothing on the scale off rotgs. It's funny s soon as one tiny piece of information comes out everyone is all (the end is nigh) I will get back in the game wait for the dust from Conan exiles to settle THEN I will make my own mind up wether or not this game is dying
