Signpost Information missing in game

Greetings,

I've been playing for a couple of weeks now and have not been able to figure out how to show the information for various signs and signposts that I have come across in the game. For instance there is one just outside of the Tortage gate. When I hover my mouse over it I get a "gear" or "use" symbol but nothing else. No text, no description... nothing. I asked a friend to come stand there with me and they told me that the sign does have a pop up for them with a description. I've checked all of my setting and options but maybe I am overlooking what may be turned off?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i had a similar issue with one of my characters. restoring the default settings fixed it.
