Let people autoloot and keep boxes, but move the boxes content (tokens) to a pool distributed after end of mini and give the bop items a popup window ("do you really want to loot xy?"). I bet the autoloot will be not that popular anymore (at least the driveby looting would be fixed).

Or to keep at your suggestion: remove boxes during mini and just count up some loot variable and give a random amount of tokens and an item chance to all after the mini. Solved, too.

Third suggestion: give a loot token to everyone friendly and nearby during the autoloot...then proceed as suggestion 2 based upon the amount of these tokens.
