Bad idea. You have more mods now, let the people roam freely those forums. It can't POSSIBLY be worst than it used to be over last couple of years.
The whole POINT of forum mergers was to bring people together and reduce the amount of FREAKING subboards. Now you come here, put up another "wall" to separate subs and f2p and to add insult to injury you are....creating MORE subboards.
Like... c'mon, give it some thought.
It will be easier to manage in the current setup. Even if it means that there are two more subforums available for F2P players as before.
If we see for some reason a change is needed in how the forums are setup access wise, we will of course reconsider. For now it seems to work well but we will, as mentioned, keep an eye on things to see if it works as intended.
Oh well at least we know what is a priority: the ease of managment, not the community.
Up to this point the forums were not managed at all (or almost not managed, the stuff that got posted here...) so why all this sudden concer with "ease of managment".
Don't you already "manage" the forums with volunteer mods?
You had a lot of time to test "f2p" forums with old forums, can't see how merged US/EU justifies "testing" it again.
Tarib as you know a LOT of people were backing up the idea of opening the whole new forums for F2P players. I wonder what went wrong and what is the purpose of this restriction.
There are numerous MMOs where non-premium have no forum access at all, e.g. SWTOR
FC is already very generous how much F2P gets, imho
