Thread: Would hurry with old forums

    Default Would hurry with old forums

    For a new player looking for answers for questions using google will have a hard time finding answers until the old forums have been archived. Even the most basic quest help and game mechanic help are no where to be found on these forums. and the links provided by search engines and gaming websites are no longer good. just a fyi

    You can always type this in the Google Search Field;
    "site: forum.eu.ageofconan.com" and add any additional text to get a more precise hit.

    Such as;

    "site: forum.eu.ageofconan.com <poster>"
    Example; "site: forum.eu.ageofconan.com Asfrid"

    OR

    "site: forum.eu.ageofconan.com <thread>"
    Example; "site: forum.eu.ageofconan.com Asgardian Exiles is recruiting!"

    And so on. Remember to look at the Cached version, not just click the link.

    Not optimal, but it's at least one way to access the information,
    until the work with Archiving the Old Forum is complete.

    The old EU and US forums should very soon be available as archives. I think "very soon" in this case means sometime today.

    I have administred and ported different forums, let say that it can be a technical challenge from time to time(Broken URLs, skin settings etc, Topics not working). It is easy once you know it but people don't regularly do those things

    I must admit, they have been quick!

    Default Old (archived) forums only available until July 1st, 2013 ?

    Are you serious ? What´s so difficult to keep the old forums forever ? Reading the thread about the changes in the forum nearly everybody stated that he/she wants the old forums to stay as an archive for a long time, if not forever.

    For a second I really thought you were listen to us, silly me.

    Nothing has changed. Same old ignorance of the wishes of the community.

    So sad...

    /edit: If it´s because of the webspace or the traffic, I would gladly put the archive on my own website, I even would order an additional domain like conanarchives.com or similar.

    yep, yet another facepalm .. right after yesterdays one, when they just shut down forums without mentioning anything at all

    way to go, FC, you obviously still got too much of a player base and community, when you can afford this nonsense again and again..
