I think it worth to give a try to Black Desert if it comes to EU/NA:

Yes the new store still blows
Yes in some point, but just because it is the same openworld sandbox mmo like the todays standards. The tendecy or the standard is gonna be this type of games, the new generation of the mmos sadly or not but they are coming from Korea, and they are huge. With a huge long term business model, with a huge development team behind them. EU or NA games cannot compete with these. Because they are doing it about 10 or 15 years.

Look at this character creation about Moonlight Blade, an action combat mmo like Age Wulin(Wushu).
Where is WoW compared to this?! It is a joke with jumping 2 colors gummy bears, with onebutton oneshot macro.

To be fair to WoW, the game is 10 years old. Which is fairly ancient in the MMO world. The appeal of WoW comes from the constant updates, the accessibility(to an extent) and the sheer volume of players, even after losing 3 million subs(which is about 10 times as many players as AoC has playing, currently. Actually, more than that).
The only problem I have with the Korean MMO's, is that ever single game is more or less the same game. And I mean, Every. Single. Game.
Yes but no one else is doing something better what is similar to AoC. Yes you are right, they cannot jump too far from thier standards, but they are always doing something new. Look at the the NA version of Tera, Enmasse is pushing very hard to favor the players. New classes, new dungeons, new events all the time right from the Korean parent company. All 7 servers are full. 3 PVP, and 4 PVE with about 4 million players. The EU version of Tera with Gameforge is suffering about the same money pulling like Funcom is doing with us. Lot of players went to NA servers from EU. WoW is slowly dying. There will not to be a WoW killer as the players used to say, WoW will kill WoW sooner or later. The brand is tired, the graphics is tired the lore is tired, the combat system is tired. Yes the mmo genre started to copy themselves, there is no new thing under the sun. You can sit and watch movies or start to find something else and adapt for those games. If AoC fails of course.

True, but LotRO has also succumbed to anime-fever by having outlandish weapons and armor visuals. I look at the armor worn by my Hobbit and my eyes focus on all those sword traps that'll guide a blade straight to a weak point.
AoC is the only MMO of this general genre that actually looks real and believable.
Plus it has topless chicks - that's positive on any level.
