Same issue today, i m using aoc quick start to avoid the patcher, working again...
After April 9 2015 hotfix i cant update and start aoc. just after patcher tries to download 18.4 mb file it says "The update process did not complete successfully".
i turned off my firewall, antivirus. Tried to change LocalConfig.Xml with someone else who completed his patch successfully.I STILL CANT :/
Re post from my guild forums where a guildy of mine is struggeling with the same problem and this fixed it for him.
Credits to Evito if it worksThis is a bug with the patcher, it expects one hash and your patcher file has another. You can use quickstart and avoid the patcher on this hotfix, I didn't have to patch at all.
I eventually did get the patcher working, this is what I did;
- Have a friend who's is working send you patchersetup.exe and localconfig.xml.
- Delete RDBHashIndex.bin in RDB folder. Delete ConanPatcher.exe and PatcherSetup.exe from the AoC folder. (These all have to be gone before you run the new patchersetup.exe file or it won't work)
- Copy in the new patchersetup.exe and localconfig.xml file.
Run patcher, and it should update (if it doesn't, read patcher.txt and find out what the problem is).
Here's mine. Open your LocalConfig.xml, remove all the text and paste the following:
Code:<Config> <Self> <ConfigKey>Universe/Client/</ConfigKey> </Self> <Universe> <Client> <ClientFileName>AgeOfConan.exe</ClientFileName> <ClientFileNameDX10>AgeOfConanDX10.exe</ClientFileNameDX10> <HttpPatchAddr>http://aoc-eu-update.live.ageofconan.com/upm</HttpPatchAddr> <HttpPatchFolder>AoCLiveEU</HttpPatchFolder> <HTTPMaxConnections>5</HTTPMaxConnections> <PreferencesName>Conan</PreferencesName> <UseCorePhysics>False</UseCorePhysics> <ClientHttpPatchAddr>http://aoc-eu-gameupdate.live.ageofconan.com/upm</ClientHttpPatchAddr> <ControlHttpPatchAddr>http://aoc-eu-control.live.ageofconan.com/upm</ControlHttpPatchAddr> <DevName>conan</DevName> <UniverseVersion>2</UniverseVersion> <Languages>en,es,fr,de,ru,pl</Languages> <EnableOfflineLeveling>True</EnableOfflineLeveling> <EnableKhitanCharacters>True</EnableKhitanCharacters> <EnableAlternateAdvancement>True</EnableAlternateAdvancement> <EnableOfflineAaTraining>True</EnableOfflineAaTraining> <PatchVersion>x1e9b2fff14ba159479bf4e40cf1dac7f</PatchVersion> <UniverseAddr>dm09-nj4.ageofconan.com:7010</UniverseAddr> </Client> </Universe> </Config>
Short cuts make long delays.
is this bug ever going to be fixed, i havent played for sometime, and i decide to return and find this, what the hell, i cant play any more, i change eu to us in config which always changes back to eu, when i do get tto my character screen i cant log into charater server as i also get a Failed to authenticate with character server BUG, is any of this ever going to be fixed, well im glad im not playing for this, this is really pathetic
It changes to eu, because thats what the server is.
This is a current LocalConfig: http://file3.guildlaunch.net/144757/LocalConfig.xml
If its not working for you, something else is screwed up. Ranting about it on the forum won't fix it lol.
ok when i try to patch its telling me there is no localconfig.xml, and when i go to log in it tell me there is something wrong with my firewall
how can i get around this, i use the windows 7 firewall the fire wall that comes with windows 7. turn the fire wall off and still the same msg, some info would be good to solve this
im still getting Failed to authenticate with character server BUG with this, nothing seems to get me back into the game.
im using quick start to avoid the patcher, but still cant get into the game, same crap as before, can't authorize the character server.

Whats in your LocalConfig.xml? If its not there, you have to make one. You also need the proper formatting. Turn Aoc quickstart off and make sure the game is patched/up to date.
