Thread: The logic behind T4 gear and the need to adjust its stats.

If you would just push to have pvp gear boosted or to put limits on the pve gear such that its not overpowering in pvp without reducing those stats for pve, then you would not be opening such a can of worms.

Coming in these forums and then saying t4 gear needs to be nerfed so that its not overpowering in pvp is not going to go down well with the pvers who worked to get into t4 and get that gear and may not even want to pvp.

I don't ask any nerf me, i want only play pvp in good condition, without any inferiority because someone can pve with his awesome guild, and someone who never pvp and are pvp 0 got better gear than me... sound legit.

Exactly. It would be like a stat equalization. So your t4 chest piece would still be a t4 chest piece in PVE, but when you effect another player, a set stat takes over that is the same across all tiers.

This is THE best option in theory. PvErs get to keep their progression, while pvper's get to keep skill based combat. It's really a win win. I'd be willing to bet my life that if FC did this, they wouldn't need to merge the servers, because the PvP servers would be filling up again. I think the pver's are worried their servers would empty, as all the PvPers who moved there to get minis and gear would go back to where they came from to enjoy world PvP and guild skirmishes again. From then on, all FC would have to do to keep the PvPer's happy would be to add little incentives and objectives. Hell, even just a chance to drop exclusive vanity set armor from players in PvP would do WONDERS to encourage PvP.

Gear imbalance is only solved by introducing a new set of gear occasionally to make you forget about the lesser set, don't expect any alterations to current T4 gear or T2/3 pvp gear it wont happen. The amount of programming/time involved to change existing gear sets take a lot more resources then addressing the issues in future gear creation. This is purely my experience with coding as a programmer myself.

    I thought the same.

Also AoC was my first MMORPG.

I remember how strange i felt when i discovered something called "PVE servers". A place in Hyboria where your character cannot be attacked by other players and all you have to do is join other players to give "gypsy beatings" to AI characters. Of course, sometimes you have to do it while jumping in one leg and touching the point of your nose at the same time (thanks developers great creativity).

Yes, we know that it's easier for FC to make the problem worse. Duh. You're wrong about the resources though. They can add more PvP gear to the game and drive away even more players easy. THey can't add new PvE gear without content to go with it. That content costs WAY more than itemization tweaks. I know this because of my experience as a game artist.

Guys we all know the game has been curse after the update 1.04 when stuff count...

I was remember pvp all day with "cool looking stuff" and when i was log in, i got like 4k HP less than a demo because of my cool stuff low level...

and our pvper said, we need to pve... for... pvp.

Then lot of guys quit immediately the game, because the guys they kill everyday got now awesome stat, because them pve, and the pvper didn't.

Pvp without stat only skill count is the best.

Vanity armor and weapon etc, and some rank for fun.

Pve gear for pve, and nothing for pvp only fun.

There is only an average of 8.1% increase from T3.5 to T4.... I DEMAND YUO BUFF T4 CHEST NNOOOWWWW!!!
Your argument supports the OP analysis.

The OP says that the stats of the highest tier in pve gear are much better than the stats of the highest rank pvp gear and that creates unbalances in pvp. Maybe that difference is not so important in DTs due to protection but in many other classes the difference is very important (I'm thinking in sins, demos, necros and so on).

U say that when u compare the T3,5 with T4 the differences are not so noticeable.

But the point is that we only have 3 tiers in pvp and if u want to count with T3,5 we have 5 tiers in pve. So that is generating a great unbalance in pvp.

In my opinion the OP analysis was accurate and pertinent.
