DT or Conqueror to group with casters

I don't know these two classes. In skimming the soldier classes it seems that DT and Conqueror could provide some benefits to casters - and my group needs a tank.

The remainder of the group will be ToS, Necro or Demo (not sure which, or how many of each yet - and could vary)

Does DT or Conqueror provide more benefit when grouped with ToS, Necro or Demo?

The Conqueror auras that provide reduced hate generation are obvious, and mana regen sounds nice.
But I guess DT has some group mana regen abilities as well.

Try both for a little bit and see which you like better. Either one can be an effective tank. DT with Dread Shadow can pretty much tank and offtank on its own, once you have half-decent gear, but conq has a full immunity bubble and a bubble that heals on physical damage, which is also great. It really comes down to which you enjoy more.

Conq will support your Tos&nec/demo better.

DT will be supported better by your tos&nec/demo

Conq = bubbles, combat ress, high dps if in offtank dps spec
DT = insane amount of dmg in right tank spec

DT debuffs unholy damage and I believe necro does some unholy damage.

Both conq and dt are high damage dealer soldiers, but a conq is sick when it comes to debuff the target and buff his allies, so i would say conq so the casters can melt things faster and also benefit from conq support abilities.

On a side note, conq is much less gear/AA dependant than dt, so it will be more effective for leveling.

Thanks much guys. I need him to hold aggro and support the casters. So it seems Conq will be the better support tank. And I think the group will be made up of Tos/Demo rather than Necro.

Conq is second best supporter and templar isn't much of a support but both will go well with anything. Choose cooler looking one.

Conq is your tank of choice then as DT as relatively poor AoE aggro tools and relies heavily on his own dps to keep aggro.

If holding aggro of a group of mobs (as opposed to a single boss / small groups, where DT does very well) is your main concern, I'd go for conq even if your group has a necro instead of a demo. Holding aggro > group benefits from debuffing
