Hey Funcom Quick Question On Latency =)

long story short,there are about 425million ppl living in a radius of 3k kilometres around raleigh (doesnt make it to phoenix, salt lake city, and regina). This area includes some of the most poor countries in the world--notably haiti, repeatedly observed in the top 5 poorest countries year in year out

if we were to draw a 3k kilometre radius around sofia, ud get everything from madrid to manchester to helsinki to moscow to tehran to medina for a pop way over the billion mark, and many hundred millions more in the developed world compared to NC's radius

looks pretty dump to go for USA to put servers

2.) Funcom sees America rather then Europe as their future for their products. Listen, I genuinely think that the pop on Crom is about the same as Set (or even less on Crom...yes yes the naysayers say no but I think I'm right.) so sort of alienating the PvP pbase of Europe to consolidate everything in NC USA makes perfect sense.... if that's where most of your existing AND/or your potential customers exist. Else, why alienate the supposedly biggest customer population region? Simple, because its not

2) There is way more potential customers in Europe - around 1 bilion

3) Costumers in Europe pays more for products than in US and especially northern part of Europe is simply way more richer than US states generaly. Not talking about under populated Canada and poor Mexico and rest of countries around

Got 3 more days of enjoying AOC, the way its ment to be played. Then back to WOW which I rearlly didn't want to do but at least I can PVP at 30-40 ms rather than 150-200.

See I don't know why this isn't addressed. Anyone who is good at PVP knows that anything over 100 latency in PVP will result in frequent missing of combos on solid players. I think the real issue here is Funcom not realizing exactly how really good PVPers actually move in combat. And when trying to land combos on a guy who knows how to move in our game, it can be almost impossible without solid latency. And then the frustration factor sets in because a player wins the fight, not because they are a superior player then you, but instead because they just so happen to live closer to the servers then you. And THAT is the type of thing that will result in rage quitting.

Thank you for finally starting with server merges I cannot wait for new Crom/Set server where you can get into raids/groups at any time of day, Set is pretty much dead outside of prime time now.

If you do not even try it before going to play WoW it is your loss.

The concern is viable, no doubt, but try it first and allow them some time to do something afterwards if it turn apeshizz yeah?

However if you have a rush to play Night elfs and dorfs and your heart is set on it, then I guess there is nothing to do about it anyways.

TBH i dont wanna play wow cos i prefer AOC by a lot, but if theres gonna be constant lag then i will be forced to go back to my old tired MMO or wait for TESO or try GW2 again. Unfortunatly im one of those that are very sensitive to latency.
