Crafting mechanics are fine as they are now imo.

Just add some new recipes for stuff that is on par with khitai gear (add heal rating and critigation rating) and make the most common recipes more accessible to the masses, i.e. sell them from vendors or raise the drop chance dramatically and you´re done.

No reason to overhaul the whole system.

No, it's an alternative mini mode, you keep the "normal" mini mode where gear matter and grinder can still have that insane advantage. Only difference is the new unchained mini will grab more players in mid/long-term because of low requirements so better popularity.

Don't think your guild leader will be impressed when you show up to defend the BK naked...

When I listened to the video I also thought I heard "unchained mode", but at the end of the day, if it's in the unchained mode all the players sign up then it dosen't matter that much that there exist a "gar matters" minigame.

But I'm not superconvinced it's the unchained mode that will have most players, at the end of the day, players want to win and gain pvp exp etc, not necessarily fight even minigames,

Some points of this whole thing that are a bit frustrating.

First off with the Unchained PVP match up, your making PVP about nothing more then PVP itself. Since if your the type that likes to gather gear up and work hard on your toon, what reason do you have to sign up to the Unchained Mini game bracket? I know that as soon as I hit PVP 10 on my main, I honestly never PVPed on it again due to it being fully AA'd and geared in everything. I started PVPing on alts to start getting Campaign Badges on them so I could use them in PVP. I am not the only person who plays like this, a lot of PVPers do. So this essentially is alienating that crowd, since whats the point of working hard on your character, if you can't even benefit from doing so? Making the game far to casual by doing this, and again not addressing the real problem in minis, which is the match making system. It's an MMO, it's not a First Person Shooter. The point of an MMO is that you get to work on your character, and then benefit from what you've done with that character. Your eliminating that aspect of the MMO experience, which will do nothing more then hurt our game.

Secondly, if EU and US servers are being combined, does that mean that we all have to sit here and fight over our character names and guild names? Not to mention there is a huge difference in latency between US and EU. Players who are sitting atm at 50-75 latency will jump up to 200-400 latency, depending on their location in the world. And in Age of Conan, Latency is God. If you have bad latency, you have to try and predict where a player is located, due to our hit box requiring your aim to be precise. But with 300+ latency, you'll simply alienate players even further. The player who is considered the best PVPer on our server is sitting at 10-20 latency at all times, meaning he is seeing the game in real time. You cannot call that a coincidence. Funcom needs to address what it plans to do with latency issues, since our game in PVP is based hugely on it.

Im sure he will understand my point lol

Well anyways I think this is wrong to go GW2 model. I will be really pissed of if after all the years ive played the stuff that i have obtain by doing thousands of minies will be given to everyone. (not that i am saying i didnt enjoy doing it) but at the end getting those gears feels like a nice reward that not EVERYONE is walking around with same stuff and there is some benefits having it.Isnt it the very same thing in raiding ( Fun and Progress?)
Now this change sounds like its going to be just fighting with clones and yet the biggest PROBLEM is matchmaking in minies and due that the grouping is absolutely retarded. Healers are all in same groups, other team has no heals other has 2, 5 sins in one team .. ext ext list goes on.

Imo PvP 1-5 and 6-10 Minigame split, combined with faster gear and AA progression would do just fine. No need to completely abolish gear from PvP, since its part of the motivation and also fun to tweak.

Keep in mind that you might end up having to balance for two different types of PvP, which could be a huge pain in the a$$...

So your point is if your not getting an edge over other people in progression there is no point to PvP? lol

I PvP to kill people and get laughs. My progression is my kill count. That should be enough for anyone.

As for progression, until last week I had been using the same two T2 weapons since 2009, and the same neck since 2010. It honestly only took me less than 2 months to grind mini game gear playing 2-5 minis every other day. The difference I think is that most minis I play in I win, does not take long to get tokens if the first 4 minis you play you win them all.

Regarding Latency I think that won't be the problem... There are solutions for that how to actually merge two servers to work as one.
It's a technical issue that can be solved by existing solutions, so you won't have high ping in US or EU.

I agree that ping and lag spikes are big problems in pvp cos when you see someone start teleporting around you, well only two things can come to mind lag or cheat... :P

PvP unchained is not that bad... Cos then you will always be able to chose if you're bad geared you gonna die fast in mini, but with this you have a chance to have a good K/D ratio and actually get some pvp xp.

Here is one suggestion to FunCom... Create more minigame maps!!! And also maybe an are in khitai for guild city

Has nothing to do with having an edge over anyone else. Has to do with I had to work to get my toon to where it is at, he didn't magically appear in full PVP armor. Everyone is going to sign Unchained in mini games, which will result in Funcom killing off the need for PVP gear. You will have PVP 10's in Tortage Armor in the game world, who go into minis in full T3 PVP armor. I have almost every class in the game at level 80, with the exception of Necro and PoM. Why should an alt of mine in an MMO be capable of going into a mini game in the exact same level of gear as my main? That's perfect for a First Person Shooter, since you don't progress in those sorts of games. But in an MMO? They are not addressing the real problem in mini games, which is match making and T4 gear. I have been in a mini game map where the other team had 3 healers, and we had none. What color is the sky of anyone who thinks thats balanced match making?
