Some time before launch we decided to let our community chose what category they would like to have servernames taken from. The rules were that it had to be linked to the Conan lore and the vast majority of users (around 60%) voted for Gods to be that category. So we started to name our PvE servers after the many gods known from the Hyborian pantheon like Crom, Set, Mitra, Bori, Ymir, Derketo and many others.

While these names are very much coming from the lore that has been around for more than 70 years in books, comics and movies, there are many players who don't know about those gods and names (and they don't have to either). The past weeks have shown that players tend to choose servers with cool-sounding names instead of one named after some god they have not heard of before.

The problem that comes with this is that some servers are packed with players while others have a much smaller population. But an MMO lives from a lively and active community so we need to make sure all the servers get their share of players. We therefore decided to rename some servers to draw more new players to them and making sure there are also active communities starting to spread.

We know of course that this is a change not all of the players will appreciate. Changing a name of a server is not an easy thing to do as players already having a character on these will have to adapt to the new name. But we are certain that in the long run this is for the good of all players.

So the server "Ahriman" will be renamed to "Bloodbrand" during one of the next scheduled updates. For a short amount of time both names will be shown as "Bloodbrand (Ahriman)" until the server will finally be called "Bloodbrand".
