it would be enough to put a weekly lockout, like on normal raids...

Not really. The point is not how fast you can farm loot with RF but the fact that it became the only content that counts and it ruins all other activities in much worse way than WB does. It boxes in people as the only way to get those rings with Atlantean shards.
We can also argue that RF effort:reward ratio is quite illogical but it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day what I am asking is not to remove RF but to actually give choices to people to enjoy whatever content they like and find fun in order to get Atlantean Shards. Those Edit by Anzu: People that like RF will keep on farming it and that's fine, but many players don't want it and they are literally forced into RF because there is no other way to get those rewards. That is beyond ****ed up logic.
Give us incentives to do versatile stuff, dungeon sweeps, normal raids (all tiers), solo dungeons, anything you like. Playing 6 mans with your friends, doing stuff within guilds, pugs, etc...
That is the way to keep the game alive and healthy.
I believe that Funcom knows it but they are afraid that if they allow players to get Atlantean Shards through dungeons and raids there will be no one doing RF anymore. Which goes back to the main question, what is the point of having RF at all?

The business proposition is likely to be along the following lines:
* the new FTP model will bring in or bring back more players who favour a casual playstyle, without too much commitment to a guild or group of friends (i.e., solo players);
* to keep them hooked, we offer solo players too-good-to-be-true rewards which they can achieve without having to commit;
* we also offer them a subscription so they can get these too-good-to-be-true rewards much faster than they would be able to as freebies.
But you are 100% right: even if one accepts that it makes business sense to offer casuals too-good-to-be-true rewards (which is a rather difficult question in itself), there is no good reason not to make them accessible to players who favor content which does require commitment to the game. That is, unless you guys are required to carry the freebies

Whose bright idea was it to include Entity on this week's raid finder? Should have just stopped after Memory Cloud imo.

in my opinion, the way they nerfed entity is actually the good way to nerf things : the mechanics are still here, you just do more damages and receive less.
even if in raidfinder it's way too weak too !

I agree with Cappa. If the Raidfinder is staying and is supposed to be an easy way to show beginners how higher tier raids work, the mechanics of the fights should be the same, with just less damage received and less boss hp.
For instance, it's a mistake that you can just bunch up the adds before Entity and nuke, and the same applies to almost everything we've seen in RF so far. The only thing this shows is how the instance looks and how the bosses look. That's all.
