Imo you should place 5 points in Shadowed Blade
Retired nab.. once it was Korando (PvP 10 BS), Andromaeda (PvP 10 Sin), Calore (PvP 10 Demo) and minions...

Definitely 5 points in Shadowed Blade in all talisman builds. It nearly doubles the damage you get from Shadow Hex. The spell can be cast max 6 times per minute, and the 5 points makes your attacks proc it 5 times more. If you don't feat Shadowed Blade, you might as well go with a shield.

Variations on builds are based on the encounter you'll use it on. In fights where mobs have negative protection and your unholy procs shine, go with Covenant of Arms. The T5 pieces with magic dmg is awesome to use with this strategy. In other fights where bosses have higher protection, Covenant of Pestlilence is a good alternative, while picking feats that increase weapon damage and combo damage. If you don't need Dread Shadow, like on Imp in T4, the build with Covenant of Pestilence is a .

Examples of viable builds, most like to tweak and test for them selves. Also dependant of gear of course.. For example, if you are in Fearless gear you most likely won't need protection from general tree

    Allround Covenant of Arms; http://goo.gl/MIEQjz
    Physical Covenant of Pestilence; http://goo.gl/Z3RGhI

By all means, not saying these are definitive answers but most talisman builds have likeness to these unless for certain purposes. Some like to have Hateful Strikes in their builds, and I absolutely see the purpose for that when tanking bosses that have high protection.

    - Why did I leave out Dooming Presence? Because having to cancel the combo before the fear applies is annoying, and it's a long animation with more time between hits than what a Blood for Aid gives. Of course, when it crits and the bonus crit dmg from Void of Madness is up, it's awesome, but so can Leech Life or any combo be if stars align.

Edit; placed a forgotten point in CoA build.

Although DP is not part of my normal 'tanking' rotation, it's still extremely useful to have in certain scenarios like big trash pulls or locking aggro on add spawns (especially since most raid adds are immune to fear so you don't have to cancel it). I find it very useful on the first T6 boss adds for example. It's also amazing in conjunction with blood pact for healing yourself if there are multiple targets around to hit.

Thats one encounter where it is useful, but for rest of T6 not so much. On adds there you'll be at least 4 tanks so...

Ok that Dooming Presence is not a good idea on trash mobs cause of Fear, but it's a great combo for damage, with left finisher which is very useful for DT - since only ASFOF combos have the same finisher, and long cd.

Another thing I disagree with you Shax is the fact that you didn't place 5 points in Depravity Tree in your CoA build.
While Tali Tanking, health taps are your main survivability tool, and 4% passive tap is really effective.

In any case I haven't raided seriously for very long time, especially on DT, and I never was with it on T6, so I maybe wrong.
This was just from my past experience.

Oh, there is a free point on my CoA link that I forgot to place, spend that into Depravity to get 1,5% physical tap. Adding 4 more points for just 2,5% additional physical tap seems bad worth for me.

Feating Talisman Mastery without feating CoA in my opinion is a waste of points. I don't really know how much damage Shadowed Blade gonna give under CoP buff, but besides that all you get is 36 magic damage and a hex spells. If you can't survive with CoA and talisman, then just go with CoA and S&B deep Desecration build. Something tells me you gonna have better dps with same survival as with CoP and tali. Or go with CoP and more points in General / Depravity, to play it on a safe side. Also if CoA isn't feated there's no need to put a point in Improved Soul Covenants (according to the description).

And I'd say it's always nice to have DP feated in such builds, just don't use it in the moments when you don't want mobs to spread around.

If solo tanking groups of mobs, then Spreadings Shadows and Air of Death are nice choices for 1 point each, as Des / Gen or Tali DT doesn't have any AoE taunts, so these small things do help keep groups of mobs under better control.
