Thread: Upcoming Changes to Membership, Offline Levels, & more

Nothing new from me that isn't already posted, but:

    1) if you leave the cost of crit/dmg pots that high, I'll stop buying them. I buy new ones every raid or at least every other raid, which means 3 or 4 times per week. At their current price, I'll rarely if ever buy them unless the free points I get increases. I'm not spending an additional $4 or so every raid.

    2) Port costs are absurd. As they were, I probably bought a dozen each month. At their current price, I'll buy zero per month.

The cost of someone buying their way to a full t5 set is so absurd I don't really care if you take that out or not. If someone is stupid enough to spend $1,000 or whatever it takes to get full T5, have at it. And at this point, T3 is so played out it doesn't matter to me if you give everyone a full t3 set in Tortage.

My advice would be to nerf T5 after Yak. No new guild will ever kill Vistrix in its current state. Give the nubes a chance to finish T5, and finish the easy mode for T6 and Slithering Chaos. Would go a lot further towards keeping bored and wavering players in the game, and might bright back a few who got bored with doing T3 and 4 over and over again.

The only thing that keeps this game from being a reasonably stable source of cash for funcom or their successor over the next few years is incompetence. If you keep players happy, they'll keep sending you $.

    1. do not take away our offline levels. If you don't want offline levels to accumulate in the future, fine, but don't take away already existing offline levels.
    2. either adjust the 4 hour pot prices down or increase the monthly points we used to receive, do not take away completely those monthly points gained.

All in all, I'm just amazed at how you guys get a financial lifeline thrown to you recently to get you out of trouble, then you promptly turn around and piss off the majority of your playerbase.

    It just boggles the mind.
Offline levels and 2 specialization and my subscription stays, there are so many problems with this.
Maximum gold staying at 10 why allow those players in then they cant buy anything?
Long term player/subscribers should be rewarded not treated like crap, this will loose many subscribers maybe that's your goal?

I think they should have done that a long time ago.
I payed for Godslayer when it was released and when they switched to the f2p model I kinda felt robbed, even though a huge part of the game was now accesible without paying a cent it still felt really odd to "loose" all this content as soon as your payment dropped.

Regarding the purchasable Items I think that handing out T3 for money is okay and the price seems right. But everything above T3 should not be given out by funcom. The worst part about it is that those items are hidden behind a gambling system.
This can be really dangerous for young people who dont know the value of money yet or people who have gambling issues already!

    3. I paid for a subscription to say sorry its gone but we gave you loyalty points is a joke
    4. I am suspecting this may end the game for all , no real advantage to have a subscription ever.
    5. What's to stop Funcom from taking our new subscriptions
    6. Funcom's Financial troubles and unethical behavior isn't our problem, we are not here to supply them with an endless cash flow
    7. I am not paying for a $90 Hamburger and told catsup is free.
    This got posted today:

You will not lose any subscription time. The post that was referenced only means that time you have will also count toward the new system for determining membership rewards.

You should remove a lot of the garbage out of the royal boxes and give us a better chance of getting something good. I opened 10 boxes (basically a whole week of lunches for me) and got a 17 expertise point box (for my full AA char sitting on 150 AAs unused) as my best thing.

One guy posted he opened 60 boxes and got (0) legendary drops.

I'd have better luck at one of the Indian Casinos on a slot machine in my area

    Suggestion:

Remove AA points. Most people buying a box looking for good gear are likely full AAd

Remove all the simple tokens. I don't know about other veteran players but I don't use them

If you are a subscriber give a better chance for a legendary drop

Otherwise this box thing is not only a slap to those of us who can do t5 past yakmar in our guilds but is also a money trap

    Funcom

    Hey, all.

We understand some folks have expressed concerns about Membership they've already paid for well in advance, and how that will factor in with the Bonus Points that would have been gained from that. After some discussion, we're going to perform the following:

When the new Membership system goes live, Members will gain a lump sum of Bonus Points equal to however many they would have gained from the old system, up to the end of their cycle date (rounded up). For example, if you had 6 months left on your Membership when the new system goes live, then you'll gain 1200 Bonus Points (200BP * 6mo) to spend in the store.

There will be a limited window to spend these points, please keep in mind.

I hope this helps alleviate some of the concerns folks were having. Let me know if you have any questions!

Edit by Anzu: No. This gives a dude who just bought a six month membership the same advantage as a 8 year veteran.

I thought it was good to get some points for the prepaid subscribers...but still don't see why TSW subscribers get a lot of funcom points per month and AOC new system won't give us the same. I think its 1200 points per month?

  8. #208

    Default Nope!

I think I will do what you have done to us, the players. I will play all the damn time and continue to take from you everything you are willing to give me....but I will never, ever give you what you want, more of my money!

I have nothing but love and respect for the developers, artists and writers on staff at Funcom; but your marketers are just plain terrible at their jobs. They have single handedly destroyed the reputation of the previous people I mentioned and sadly their decisions will cost those good folks their livelihood in the long run. If your marketers ever got out of their own damn way, this company might actually stand a chance...

What are you talking about Shax, if you paid for sub time, hes simply stating your getting all your points for what you paid for. Doesn't even involve the a advantage. It what people paid for.

I do appreciate the funcom points for the time I've got prepaid, just wanted to emphasize that.

    Thank you
