Strange UI 2016

hit an error that is crashing my game. It happens when I speak to a NPC for a quest. This is the error,

Age of Conan ConanLiveWin32 v5.00.0@560282 has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.

Background story:

Gaming on a 4K monitor. Made a post in general asking help because of small UI. I got directed to the link above and I downloaded Strange UI with the link in that thread. Hit this error doing The Awakening III Part IV. Into the Lion's Den quest, crash happens when I try to speak to Isleen (19)

ok, back at home.

So, install Strange UI with strange ui color text option
Then go to Age of Conan/data/gui/customized and open TextColors.xml with notepad.

Look under <!-- "Magic" HTML colors used for the various chat groups --> , you will see the different chat groups and their colors coded like 0x123456
You just need to change the 0x123456 by the color code of your choice.

Save. Launch your game. Enjoy your work

Very nice, thank you for posting this. I'm not seeing which chat is for Global, Global English and so on but was able to change the NPH (newbie) color. What would I look for for the Global's?

It should probably be one of the "strandard" ones. Try "misc"

I installed the UI and then I ran Aoc.exe as admin and it said"this program wasn't installed correctly" and it removed the aoc.exe. UI works in the game but then I wanted to tweak the UI more so I decided to uninstall the mod but I cannot uninstall it anymore because aoc.exe doesn't exist. I removed Customized and Aoc folder and I tried to reinstall the UI with AoC UI installer and I get this error when I click install.

And yes I ran everything as admin

Problem I can't solve: your system refuses aoc.exe
May be related to antivirus

Problem I might have a solution for: access denied
If your system allows it, try to open strange ui.zip and extract aoc.exe. Run as admin untill it says "deactivated"
If it doesn't, you might want to check your registry (using RegScanner.exe for example, or typing regedit in windows, then search aoc.exe with F3 key) I've never encountered the issue so I can't provide further reliable help.
