Thread: Level 80 - what dungeons..?

Default Level 80 - what dungeons..?

We are a group of returning players who left the game not long after Godslayer release.... We are working on our faction now and I was wondering what dungeons should we do and in what order.

Our group is Dark Templar - Bear Shaman - Tempest of Set - Assassin - Demonologist - Priest of Mitra.

^ What he said, unless your tank vastly outgears the encounter, you need 2 tanks in most dungeons. Maybe having 3 healer's can make it possible to get away with 1 tank in some fights though, as you have 3 big heals (and skills like Blessing of Mitra/Fangs of Set/Bewilder) rather than 1-2.

The most rewarding dungeons to do when starting out are Flame/Vortex/Palace HM (lots of good items for soldiers/tos/pom/demo/necro in particular, simple mechanics but some gear check for maintank), KK dungeons (Necropolis, Cavern of Malice, Yag - complex mechanics, many AA requirements, but fairly slack gear requirements, rewards epic pants at end), Ardashir Fort (rewards epic head at the end, lots of rare tokens, extremely good blues, and aa albeit no rep tokens/MoA, last fight is fairly hard), Vile (rewards epic cloak at end, 5th boss is relatively difficut). All of these really, do require some gear however, at least from the tank, so you can't really go from leveling greens/blues to Khitai HMs. Farming WBs/lower tier raids until you have some gear and the important AAs might be an option, and Khitai NMs aren't a completely bad idea if you simply lack the required gear, although Khitai blues dont give very much mitigation (Khitai blues are better than T3 gear for some classes however).

Old world dungeons like Iron Tower/Xibaluku aren't really worth doing for the sake of progression anymore, though they are fun and worth doing. The epic accessories aren't all bad, but to be honest you can find blues that are just as good from doing solo dungeons/Crow's Nest quests/crafted blues on auction house.

EDIT: These dungeons are the "grindmill" though, and while very good, do get tiring after a while. More fun, imo, dungeons include Jade Dugout (not too hard if team uses voice communication, which I presume you will), Pillars HM (very cool place, unlike most small Khitai dungeons), Ai District (1st boss is very cool and hard, 2nd drops epic pants if you tire of Yag), Tianan District, Sepulcher of the Worm, Coils of Ubah Kan. These dungeons, minus Pillars, are very hard though and definitely not starter dungeons.

Have that PoM roll a conq.

After that, the natural progression in dungeon difficulty follows the maps, so nothern grasslands come first, then choisain, then kara korum and then paikang.
When you're working on paikang you can also do the unchained old dungeons, like halls of eternal frost and amphitheatre of karutonia, on top of the sepulcher of the wyrm in dragon spine.
When you're good with all of that you can go to scorpion cave and caravan raiders hideout in keshatta and after that, the coils of ubah khan.

But as said, 1 soldier only is a no go for a huge part of the hard mode / unchained dungeons.

Have one healer reroll a tank. After that, since you're very lucky to have a whole group ready and willing, play every dungeon once and see how you like them. Then repeat ones you like most for tokens. There's a guide somewhere listing relative difficulties and such but if you're gonna grind, grind what you like most.

I have to say i agree with previous posts. Have 1 of the healers reroll to a soldier class. Conq preferably.
As for dungeons i think most ppl will say palace in chosain province is the easiest of the k6 dungeons followed by vortex then reliquary of flame. Doing loops of those 3 will get you gear and rares. Then when you have some gear you can move on to other dungeons. You can also farm halls of crom for gear and rares. The khitai blues and hoc blues are almost as good or better then t2 purples.
You will need that 2nd tank though.

A few instances has gear checks, others can be done with 1 tank and some improvization.
