does this even do anything? I click on it and get a buff "bathed in blood" but i don't see anything..

was expecting some sort of animation.

Your character should turn blood red I think.

Yes, your skin will turn a blood red color, but, it won't show unless you're wearing armor that shows some skin.

Also, in my experience you will lose the color buff if you weaponswitch before the timer runs out.

also, it may take a few minutes for the skin to change color...

the ./dustoff animation would fit that delay very fine. And the red blood seems not the only effect that can be dispelled by weapon change or even reequipping gear.
