AoC's potential is VERY high, the game just requires it's developers to DEEPLY "care" about the future and the future "SUCCESSFULNESS" and the longevity life of Age of Conan as a whole folks!

There's really nothing to make this game "successful".
The game is over 6 years old, all that's left are diehards that very likely will tend to stay no matter what.
The boat for AoC being successful sailed years ago.
"Negative" and doubtful attitudes towards Age of Conan's future development and future success potential is the foul way of satan folks!
Lots and lots and lots of money.
Aside form the obvious things like better performance and graphics I'd like to see a large expansion continuing the edgy brutality and storytelling that Funcom does so well.
On a smaller scale not being able to fight underwater or explore, as in finding something a bit more extensive then a chest or an underwater passage, is rather limiting.
I think the best way to make AoC a success is adding a lot of gay porn videos around. You finish the destiny quest:gay porn video; you kill a boss:gay porn videa; you buy an epic piece from a kithai vendor: ey porn video; you win a minigame: gayporn video...
-> DT:Stiraqvcrn; Necro:Munyidora; ToS:Stiraqvaa; Guard:Stirameco; BS: Stiraqcanya, ...
If you see one Stira wipeing a group or a raid Its me
1. Finish promised content (last stage of server merges that allows cross-server gaming, T5 raids) much more quickly - even if this means you need to hire more staff.
2. Regular content updates, not just empty promises.
3. More promotion, they already missed a huge cinema advertising opportunity during the previous Conan movie release.
4. Group finder that automatically ports players to the instance when the group is filled.
5. Create an API to allow player UI mods and helper tools, possibly even map creators, for use in the testlive environment. Players could fill some missing voice narration too. I'm sure some of our creative player base would be able to come up with some killer PVP maps and/or PVE dungeons. That's free development that you can cherry-pick to move to live.
6. Pending success of the above, release more servers geographically and players can join games in a location geographically closer to them. Much of this work would already be achieved via cross-server tech.
