Not sure what this really means but I guess (and hope) it means a reduced grind.

    Raeli,
Yeah, I see where you are coming from and understand this game might not be for all, it is probably an aquired taste. But I too see the classes as one of the biggest selling points, they look really interesting and diverse.
From what I have been able to tell, a large portion of the Western Black Desert Community are super gung-ho about PvP, and grinding. They want the game to be super friendly to ganking everyone. Right now the game has some fairly harsh penalties against killing people not interested in PvP. The community hasn't been able to get Daum Games to really comment on the matter.

Also, in terms of grinding, almost everything I see is people talking about skipping almost all quests, and just moving from grindspot to grindspot to level up, and once at max level, pick a grindspot and grind for gear. All while solo as it is more cost effective in terms of xp (and maybe loot). And a lot of people say the leveling up from 1-50 is far too quick and easy, and they want to lower the curve so people have to grind more.

Honestly, it really boggles my mind.

As it is now, I may play the game, but if it becomes even more grindy, and you have PvP ganking shoved down everyone's throats, I will probably pass the game by.

Also, I believe there is really no end-game PvE, aside from solo grinding mobs for gear.

It is a sandbox pvp game, there was never supposed to be endgame raiding of any kind. That there is multiple world bosses that spawn throughout the day is not liked by everyone.

Black Desert content does not come from the game or dev, it comes from the server's community through PvP. Who cares about leveling or pve content. It is a PvP centric game.

Have to understand the market that black desert comes from also. Anyone looking for endgame pve will just play blade and soul. those who strictly want a sandbox pvp endgame will play black desert. Competing with other mmo is not good for business. Stick to one thing and be good at it.

Stole this from someone else about black desert endgame
    1. Castle siege(PvP) Group
    2. Node control fights(PvP) Group
    3. Open World PvP(War status)
    4. Leveling crafting/fishing
    5. Working for endgame gear/getting +18 beyond gear
    Raistbad/Backwoods/Dutchmaster/Rangerishard
30,0000+ kills, 10,000+ mini, still bad

Remind me again when going sandbox is good for business.

Ultima online like 20 years ago, Star Wars Galaxies like 10 years ago, and Darkfall 5 years ago. All are now hall of fame MMO when it comes to PvP.

I blame the new generation of gamers, everything has to be sandbox and instantly gratifying.

Pve in a Sandbox is usually about risk = reward while conforting all kinds of player from crafters to traders and socialisers to adventurers on a meaningful wheel scheme where the thrill is wealth and power fluctuate all the time in a seemless world.

Pve in a Theme park is usually about grinding dungeon instances separated from the game world with your guild and your friends in an unilateral vertical progression with little thrill after something was done once and where the challenge depends mostly on your gear check and the dungeon gear requirement while the worst that can happen is a group wipe and try again.

In the 80s and 90s we did things differently, just saying. Most people don't have time to invest in the sand box craft your life away scheme...

Archeage is a korean mmo exported to western countries with an abusive pay to win cash shop. Korean mmos usually are for hardcore grinders even more so than western theme parks, see kithai first version in aoc as an adaptation to that market.
Compare to Lineage 2, Tera or the incoming Blade and Soul with a very interesting action combat but the pve in those is usually riddled with bots and too much stand in a spot to grind 500 mobs for the west.

It's different to western sandbox games focusing on the adventure, risk vs reward and social scheme like the incoming Gloria Victis, the already released indie game Mortal Online or the actually in public beta test ARK. No AAA western mmorpg sandbox was released in a long while, they are usually crowd-funded because they differ too much from World of warcraft theme park standard for the big western publishers who kind of stalled the genre.

And western localisators don't know how handle korean mmo to western public. That's why 90% of players just check them out and never returns after first month.
