Thread: All Your Tomium Are Belong To Us

    Funcom

So, as I have said in the past, we're still cooking things up over here for AoC's community.

What would you like to see from us? What can we, as the Community Team do for you?

Another subscription offer would be nice, since the anniversary one was done over a month before the actual anniversary.

You could have forum contests and reward people with custom avatars?

    More avatar options?

This please. With the right bonuses I'd seriously consider it.

For us, not so much. The recent interactions you've brought up are quite nice and refreshing. Too bad the angry mob drove away the GD, having some of his imput was a nice toutch and he was more of a presence in his first few weeks as the one master.

Honestly, I'd rather like to see what you could do for the game. Marketing strategies, advertising, promoting player made resources and utilities, supporting mod development (as much as legally possible). Old as it is, AoC could still atract more players, new and retired vets alike. Remind them how cool this game really is, and still the best out there in many aspects. Bring forward some of the player sugestions regarding the item shop and F2P system to the finance guys, they desperately need revisiting. Above all, promote this game to funcom itself. Show them bosses how passionate the community is for this mess of a game and that it is still worth keeping alive.

I want to see a GM don the role of a world boss with a few extra fun abilities for himself (offset the fact they likely aren't actualy players). PvE and PvP at its finest, ay?

    I'd second that, too.

Yeah some contests would be nice.
Maybe 4 years ago, Funcom had organized something like a Forum scavenger hunt (i think, don't remember exactly) rewarding the first few to complete it with pretty cool prizes. There was for instance a few life subscriptions as top prizes. But any kind of contest would be cool be it quiz, themed screenshot contest.
Yeah i'd love to see scavenger hunts organized. Riddles to solve to find something hidden somewhere in Hyboria.

And a marketting campaign could be nice too indeed.

Speaking of...what happened to the idea of achievements in game?

+1 for the yearly sub offer. It's always happened though hasn't it? Last years was a bit underwhelming? Likely I juat had it all already anyway.

There used to be an official AoC Facebook page, which might be the most convenient method for getting out info to the community. Patch notes and updates, TL raid/group organisation (the calendering comes to mind), promotions, community events, sub offers, freebies just for being 'friends' with FC/AoC up to thought-out web-challenges, etc. Maybe even connect with the RPers. For some content. All pretty easy basic stuffs. A lot of ingamers hate forums, but a huge chunk of the Western pop use FB. For those that dont, well, they likely know someone who does or simply miss out on superfluous in-game stuff miss out =D
