Buying new AOC computer - need advice

Calling all gear heads: please advice me if this is the right (TM) setup for AOC. All comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I would certainly buy bigger LCD panel and at least 240GB SSD drive. Otherwise components seems about right if you want good value for your money and dont wanna pay too much for high-end components you will prolly never need/use.

You wont even spend the whole budget for this I guess.

I would remove SSD, buy 16GB of RAM (Windows 7 Home Premium will prove its worth with more than 8 too), buy a Blu-ray drive (I buy Blu-rays these days, not DVDs), and get a 1920*1200 24" monitor.
Throw in a card reader, a case, and extra fans too.

This, but keep the SSD, just spend the money for it, gotta have an SSD. I like all your other choices except that power supply and memory brand. Crucial for memory and Corsair for power supply and get at least 750w. Don't be cheap when it comes components.

SSD is a must. It doesn't necessary increase the FPS in game a lot, but the loading time of OS and games will definitely decrease.

I have upgraded and bought PC parts since 1994.
My best investments that made gaming (and time spent in front of the computer) enjoyable would be something like this:

1. 3D Miro HiScore Card in ca 1997 (before the Voodoo cards)
2. 27" LCD with 2560x1440 resolution in 2013
3. SSD disk in 2012 (because of the load times in different games)

I'm a gaming nerd.. Play all kind of games and do it a lot (AoC shortcut are deleted for the time being. Wating for the Crafting Revamp goes live).
Beside the 3D card I would say the LCD 27" (2560x1440) changed my gaming habit (is that good or bad? )

The sad part here Slith, is the price for 2560x1440 LCD.
But when you first have tried a screen with that resolution you can't understand why you didn't do the investment many years ago

Agree with the others. SSD is a must.

At least 1200p is a must, I feel personally 1080p is too tight if budget permits, I would also consider getting a 1440p. Philips and Samsung got some decent 1440p monitors at €400-450. After all, you are gonna have the monitor through several computer upgrades, most likely.

Get a good power supply with good warranty and 80 plus gold rating.
