From my experience currently casting classes do excessive damage at the moment, aside from necro dots, demonologists in pvp gear now are substantailly harder to kill and deal the same damage as when they wore T4, in alot of minis i have noticed that the team wont even risk pushing when there is a demo on the other side of the room spellweaving because they can cripple the entire team in a matter of seconds when combined with some ranger focus and necro dots.

It also seems to me that rangers are hitting even harder now, a pvp10 ranger taking out my barb which totes 32.6% pvp armour with just bleeding puncture - pen shot - quick shot and TTS. Luckily i got my revenge though by inserting my highlords sword into his rear end several times.

Maybe investigating the tenacity and spellweaving might be worth to look at. It would not surprise me, if they did some intended/unintended ninja changes too concerning these and critical mechanics. When i have time i might do some tests.
From my experience in minis and open world now, it does not seem to affect lesser geared dts/demos/rangers/etc. , so maybe something hits exponentially hard in certain combinations?
Whatever happened, it increased the "oneshot lowbie" factor a lot.

You can bypass tenacity by not having your target targeted with some abilities. Tenacity only goes into the math when you have your target targeted and doing a direct damage spell on some stuff. That is maybe why necro and other magic abilities seem to be hitting harder no matter the gear or stats. ToS for example hits harder on its AoE spells on players you don't have targeted like when storm field is up. They even changed the mechanics of call lightning because of it and then later added boxes on feat tree to help with it being nerfed. Call lightning used to be able to be cast without having anything targeted like elemental fury. Most ToS who dueled in pvp learned to compensate by tab targeting over during end of animation to avoid tenacity.

Are you sure about that? How did you come to that conclusion?

Tenacity mostly matters against tanks anyway, not everyone runs around with elusive but soldiers can always have 40% chance without even using the perk, which is quite a lot.

Tenacity doesn't negate a direct % of enemies critigation amount. As I understand it, it make that % of your critical damage (50%crit +~20-30 crit dam rating) 'immune' to being critigated. So it shouldn't need to target enemies.

Critigation works on enemies critical damage, but tenacity works on your critical damage not others critigation, allowing critical damage to be omitted from the damage reduction.

Either way my point was this:

The tiny % dps increase you get from using Khitai or t4 you will loss more during most of those important crits than using slightly less dps pvp gear simply because a huge % of your critical damage is not critigated.

That's why i would have like dots having a range effect, and those making no damage at the range where the game can't even know from who the damage comes ("Stranger's..."). Why pets have a range limit and dots not is beyond me.

It would push some necros to move in fight instead of sw at pad.

PS : Tekhan is maybe a bad player (I've seen really really worst though), he sometimes has more balls than a lot of pvper on Fury
