Thread: New G13 user.

    Default New G13 user.

So i just purchased a new logitech g13, and i'm totally lost on where to start. I have a logitech mouse with macros saved to the buttons, and now i wanted to improve my gameplay even further with the g13. I've have always used a traditional keyboard, with the WASD keys as my forward/back/sLeft/sRight. Also using the 1,2,3 number buttons as upper left, up mid, up right attacks. Do you all just use the mouse for movements? Are the directional attack keys spread around the g keys? Is there a way to swap bars, or press a shift button to swap bars on the fly, and reuse already assigned g keys? I already tried to search the forums for threads with more info, but cant find a thing. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all you probably going to want a UI customized for the G13.

After that install, I guess just place stuff on the UI and bind it to the keys...

use joystick as wasd, use g3,4,5,10,12 as directional attack,
and i found that it is awesome if you use g15 as tab and put the shift/space key on mouse

It took me a bit of trying to figure out how to get the most out of my G13. Sure you can map buttons one to one like most people do, or you can think out of the box a bit and your G13 will become pure awesomeness. ^^

The key is to realize that with the buildin LUA scripting ability, the same button dosen't always have to do the same thing.

Just to give you an idea, you can make it so that key G11 execute the next combostep. So instead of using 3-5 keys for that, you only use one. Freeing up keys for other stuff.

I can get into more detail if you're interested in getting the most out of your G13 this way. As for movement, you'll be very happy with using the joystick for movement as mentioned above. You'll get used to that very fast. And they G15 key has perfect placement for tabbing between targets, as also mentioned above.

    Cheers!

thx for the replies guys. G13 ikosui is installed now. So henryx, u said your mouse buttons are shift(LMbutton), space(RMbutton)? Also, how would i make make just one G key work with all 5 directional attacks, so only one key is used?

I sent you a private message. Nothing fishy about it, its just that it will be easier to guide you through it if you can join me on teamspeak.

    Install this software: http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/suppor...osid=14&bit=32

Open it, and configure the G-keys. That works like this: http://logitech-en-emea.custhelp.com...cVMxMjRwT2w%3D

I have it installed since at least 3 years, now with latest version, i cannot save any configuration, or worst, Logitech Gaming Software crash when i try to open it. Not able to use the G13 more than for timer or UC/RAM monitor...

I've been playing every game I own with a G13 for about three years now. It's hands down the best gaming peripheral you'll ever buy and a wise decision on your part.

I have a video of me using the G13 and G600 mouse to fight random mobs in Northern Grasslands here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck0X17OqD7k

From the first arrow key on my UI to the right and down to the bottom are actually all mapped to the number keypad and used by the G600 mouse. So if I want to throw an irritate or cry of havoc into a rotation I do it with the mouse.

You'll notice that it's one row of buttons shy of being all 12 on the G600, but that's because the bottom row are Jump / Hide / and what I like to call the "joker" key which I usually put whatever AA ability I'm currently needing to use in there.

This is what my Guardian G13 key page looks like:

Use the Joystick to walk, but I remapped it to the up and down arrows rather than WASD. The "`" key opens up the world map. The "HMS" key is a script that quickly types Q,W,E which starts all my potions running.

If you look at my cast bar in the video, then you'll see my combo's are all mapped like:

    123456
    7890-=

To the keypad and each one of those buttons runs a script when I push them.

Here is an image of what happens when I push the G2 key on my G13. If you watch the video and look at the script then you can put two and two together and see what's going on here. It sure makes playing a guardian with six special abilities, four taunts and a couple of AA's a lot easier. Less button mashing, and more enjoying the fights.
