Removing the borders from the map?

I like to play with map up in minigames, and I don't mind minimum size (would be cool if I could make it a tad smaller though), but the borders are too big for me, consuming too much screen.

So Im wondering if anyone knows how to approach this.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Funcom\Age of Conan\Data\Gui\Default\gfx\WorldMap

In this folder I find the skins for the borders, and I could potentially edit them. Anyone tried this?
