Question A bit of help with gear?

    Im going with this: http://joharaoc.eu/feat?link=v10_11f...19a8128e2118de

Pve dps.. BUT, what do I want for my gear? Im thinking magic dmg and wisdom? If this is correct, should I just ignore str and combat raiting, hit raiting and such? :S

Is this a talisman tanking build or a pure PvE dps build? In either case, you can come up with something better than the build you have. You say this is a pve dps build but it is full of tanking feats you should not need. Try to get rid of those and get the feats that give you more magical based damage increase and aoe.

As for gear, you will want to maximise your critical rating and use VoM AA perk. As you said, DTs benefit greatly from putting up wisdom and/or +magic damage gear for dps. Go for those stats when possible but don't overlook critical rating or hit rating. Try to have a hit rating of at least 12-13% so you can reliably hit you targets and not miss your combos.

As dt, you don't really need a dps specc, because you can run with an aggressive tanking specc, and just switch to frenzy if you want to dps.

But if really you want a dps only specc, i guess something like that would be fitting :

As for gear, wisdom and magical damages only gives better result on encounters with low or no magical protection, which is mainly T3 and trash mobs in t3.5/4.
But if you're a new player, you will not get there before some time, so all you'll encounter will be bosses and mobs with balanced protection/armor.
Which means that strength and combat rating will give pretty much the same result than wisdom and magical damage.

Well, same result except that in heavy dps armor, you can actually take aggro and survive, offtank, and not be entirely useless.

Cunning deflection? You missed the best DPS combo DT can have - Dooming Presence. So my take will be something like this:

Depending on your spec the type of damage you do will vary. Run parses - look at what contributes most to your damage then adjust gear accordingly. Ratios below are approximate but will give you an idea of what to expect (assuming VoM and over 15% crit chance).

    - With a standard pet tri-build spec ~40% of your damage will be white hits/combos, and ~30% unholy. Combat rating, strength and most standard issue items are better.

    - With a desecration centric spec it isn't surprising to see ~60% of your damage as unholy and less than 15% from white hits/combos. As such wisdom and magic damage gear will contribute far more to your DPS than combat rating and strength.
