Thread: Minigames: Please implement autokick for inactive players

    That idle time can be reduced in minis...not only as countermeasure against intended afk, but also against people crashing or falling into the ground (like 4 mins instead of 15 mins, longer than it takes for fetching a drink, collecting a package from postman, answering a quick phone call or going on bio, but short enough to be relevant compared to total mini game time).

    One solo measure might not be enough though, since it is easy for one in hide to just press a key and move a step, not changing the situation.

    But...for example they could take damage dealt, damage taken or healing done etc. into account. In addition they can define zones, in which such an autokick from hide or idleness happens. If they move out and sneak around in hiding either to ambush or to avoid being zerged at the end stages, such behaviour is completely legit. So linking a kick purely on time in hide will not work.

    We want to go after those hiding and going afk to leech, aren't we?
    Another positive aspect, if you add such measures will be, that manipulating minis by letting one "friend" go inactive will get a bit harder, too.

    Well lol "going on bio". You can ban for years the players that do that while in a mini. That can wait 20 minutes, or either you should have done it before signing or you're incontinent.
    I wouldn't mind if Funcom would not focus their mechanics for incontinent. ^^

    We don't like ppl going afk so we want autokick. However we're okay with players going in hide for most of the game? Vote to kick is essential in any co-op multiplayer game.

    If you read the previous suggestions, there is one about people who hide in minigames.
    • Remove daily rewards and the raid finder;
    • remove membership bonuses;
    • disable PVE XP for daily challenges;
    • remove WBs forever on Crom;
    • slow down the AA gain;
    • lower the PVP XP gain or remove the streak system;
    • remove AoE looting;
    • add the missing mobs back to Khesh., F. of the Dead, and Eigl. Mount.;
    • fix the 250+ms ping;
    • take the key away from Saddur;
    • revert T3, T3.5 (10.21.15), T4 (10.21.15), and GGG changes;
    • remove energy and add skills (like taunt) back.

    Pretty sure New Players PVP 1-3s will get the Boot with a vote to kick system which will be kinda unfair.

    Kinda agree with the autokick afk timer though.

    Vote kick would be best IMO. Pvp1-3 can go to bori or khitai and not be burden to my mini teams. I've seen pvp0's kill pvp10's. It's about the player, not the pvp level.

    Ever thought about, that a votekick system can work both ways?
    E.g. all your "go Bori and Khitai" people could easily vote YOU out...

    But the most likely scenario will be, that you will only achieve such a kick through pure "premade numbers" (e.g. abuse "that one does not play by OUR rules (too slow response, does not follow orders by self-proclaimed leaders, is not geared enough for our taste, is from an enemy guild etc.), let's kick him/her!") or not at all (afkers rarely come alone in a mini and as soon as there are 2 on your side, the votekick will not work. Also, if afking is deliberately used to manipulate the outcome, the votekick will not work. As soon as the afker has a friend in the team, the votekick will not work). A good autokick system on the other hand WILL work in all those cases.

    And a votekick will actually hurt minigameplay, because players will be more worried about "who to kick and who is afk?" vigilante work, than actually playing or trying to win.

    Sorry, it keeps being a "no go", designwise, communitywise and concerning the (less drama and more fair) alternatives.

    That was just an example. There are plenty of other ones, like tanks that take the flag and never cap to troll his teammates.
