Installing the game without steam

Well I did install it with CD a year ago or 2. Wasn't a problem.
Isn't it just a problem with this file that has the server adress or something that you just have to copy paste ?

Aoc works perfectly under xp. Dx9 runs in fact a bit faster than on vista/7 only problem is that the game will sometimes exceed the 2gb memory limit of 32b OSes in Khitai areas (so crash to desktop then). Still playable even with max settings after dreamworld update - I was still on xp few months ago.

The thing with the cds is they're most likely using an old localconfig meaning it's trying to patch from a server that is no longer in service. At least it have been like that in the past, might have been fixed.

You should still try to get your hands on a fresh localconfig. But I suggest fresh install from the downloader found on the account page.
