    Funcom Game Director Letter - June 2013

    After the madness of the anniversary celebrations June has been a quieter month in Age of Conan as we work towards the server merges, stabilization and finalizing the new Dragon's Spine dungeons. I'll also talk a little bit about some of the concerns the community has raised around the dungeon loot in Dragon's Spine.

    So, us Euro Trash at least get to keep our server names. But it was a g great read and looking forward to playing with americans and (more) germans.

    I have quite a few achievements that I would like to see:

    Crafting Die Hard
    Renew subscription for the whole 12 months 3 times in a row because of empty promise of crafting revamp.


    This whole letter reads to me like team is MONTHS away from delivering anythingn solid.

    I don't think I have hidden that fact with regards to the crafting system. It's a lot of work.

    prospect of more unchained dungeons and revamped loot table sounds good.

    but im very unsatisfied with bringing more aa's before doing revamps.
    been waiting for years for necro&hox revamp, and whole rogue classes need some love too given soldiers&healers outshine in every pve aspect all rogues, also the shamefull degrade wich was done to ranger class now most boring class ingame.
    and lets not forget the much needed tweaks to dt & guard to fix dt's dependancy on vom and total impossibility for juggernaut tree be usable in pvp or have any decent dps in pve.

    i would sugest instead of bring more aa's do revamps/tweaks first then or at same time bring more aa's wich are also needed for broadening play styles for all classes.

    The letter reads like an update on the works in progress. Summer is already 1/3 over, suppose the community give them the time they say they need. So far, the new GD has delivered us more content in 6 months than the previous one had in 2 years.

    The achievements look interesting, however, are they backwards compatible? I have been playing since launch, certainly if there is some reward for winning 2,000 HV maps I should get it if I already have it. I don't expect to play 2,000 more. lol

    could u tell us which 3 are the next unchained dungeons?

    For the first iterations of the new dungeons, we have agreed to proceed with the itemization work that was already done by the previous systems team and complete those sets.
    this isn't good, cause these sets are really a waste without the 'set bonuses' mentioned by the previous team.
    those sets are a setback to those aquired in khitai.
    Hit Rating is quite nice option to be the main bonus on them, but add something more so they can be competitive for khitai ones.

    it is obvious that we need to look for various solutions to solve the problem of giving people more interesting loot - without creating a huge power gap between veterans and new level 80 chars.
    sorry but I don't understand... dragon spine dungeons difficulty level is higher than khitai hard modes, and khitai gear is obviously needed there, so what power gap? fresh 80 won't be able to do those dungeons I think... and we need some gear/accesories with more stats variety that khitai didn't present some classes (str + heal rating for example) some really usable gear would be nice

    In addition we have three more of the Unchained dungeon revamps ready for testing
    thats the most wanted news for me, can you reveal us which unchained dungeons are those?

    Oh I don't blame you. The last guy in charge (who shall be not named) sold us the idea that SDS + crafting is coming in december of 2012. He knew what was ready and he had to know that half of the game doesn't support crafting system. It was around the time when many of us were buying 1 years subs.

    In real world it's called "consumer fraud"
