Thread: The logic behind T4 gear and the need to adjust its stats.

There shouldn't be any PVP gear at all.

PVE should be a gear treadmill and PVP should be a game of dynamic territorial control.

If you want good gear, then you should PVE, if you want to keep your guild city at rank 20, then you should PVP.

Not sure what you mean man. I agree there shouldn't be separate pvp and pve gear, but what it sounds like you're saying is you don't think PvPer's should have access to the same item power as PvErs. THey are 2 different play styles that currently require huge time investments. Only now, PvPers are wasting their time grinding for PvP armor/weapons because t4 raid gear is SOOO much better than the high end PvP stuff. Dynamic territorial control would be awesome, but not if you have to raid full time in order to get the gear you need to be competitive in PvP.

Instead of adjusting T4 PVE armor for PVP, why not increase the stats on T2 and T3 PVP armor. The difference between T2 PVP armor and T3 PVP armor is 5% stat difference. Meaning not noticeable on any level. Why not simply make the stats on current PVP armor more relevant, and increase the gap between T2 PVP armor and T3 PVP armor from 5% to something noticeable.

I think it's kind of silly to ask for a nerf to PVE gear due to the fact that PVE armor is not designed for PVP. People use it for PVP. A lot of PVEers who use T4 gear don't even PVP.

They should make a parallel game for PVPers to go with the parallel universe they live in. They are the minority in this game and therefore this particular tail should not be wagging the dog.

Mark my words. If FC does not start putting more focus in PvP, the game will continue to die a slow painful death. When "that new game" comes out next year, AOC will have NOTHING worth subbing for at the current rate its adding new content. PvPer's require much less resources to appease at this point than PvEr's do. No complicated raid boss encounters, no new dungeons... All we want is number tweaks, and some vanity sets and titles to "grind" for.

Considering how limited resources are for AOC, The cost/benefit ratio of PvP tweaks is much more favorable than more PvE. The content just isn't going to come fast enough to keep the PvE crowd content. PvPer's, as fickle as they can be, are much easier to satisfy from a resource/cost perspective.

Problem is, many of the 'fixes' PVPers want would 'break' or at least damage PVE. Now if your main clientèle are PVE, who do you focus most on to keep happy?

Fair enough if changes made only affected PVP, fine, do it, but that's not what I see being asked for from PVPers in general.

    Edit.

How many 'new games' have there been since AOC came out? How many have been proclaimed as the death knell for AOC? I'm guessing all of them and yet we are still here despite the bugs and faults and many of those games are a distant memory.

The PVP community on Crom seem a little excitable going by Global chat and they're forever pronouncing the next game as the great white hope that will kill off AOC but they invariably turn out to be the big white dope and we see them back on Crom, in global.

So many mistakes there in this topic.

1st stats of pvp sets are different from one class to another. For example most of soldiers and bses will prefer t3 pvp sets vs t4(except weapons, but including shield), DT have options with more dps vs less protection but i cant agree that damge is really better.

dps classes like mages and sin prefer t4 cause pvp sets for those classes are so weak at all.

pom and tos prefer mix of pvp and t4 cause with no protection you will die too fast.

2nd why you compare t3 pve vs t4 pve while there is khitay epics from HMs? Its much easy to get it and have better stats then t3 gear except necks, cloaks and several weapons.

For a tos scarlet set is almost like t4, some parts are even better then t4 ones. Summary full t4 sets will only gives you additional 44 magic damage, 22 crit rate, 320 HP and 140 armor, but unfortunely chest and helm give you most part advantage then small parts but most of toses prefer to wear pvp helm and pvp chest cause of lot protection on it.

3rd you forgot that top pvp gear t3 one could be just digged from those epic so called pvp content named bori, thats not real pvp content but complete fail which gives no skill players with huge online take good gear there.

so nerf t4 letting all pvp content like it is now willnt help pvp players but just will ruin pve at all(even now t4 gear for some classes not good enough to be farmed there).

Instead FC should revamp all light and cloth pvp sets, also revamp all t2-t3 pvp weapons to give more damage there, then give bori tokens as reward for tournament minis and maybe sieges, also give weekly quests for common minis with same reward(like 10 victories on each map etc).

and/or just made t2 pvp set equal to t3 in stats or let ppl buy bori tokens for mini ones.

Maybe then its time for PVErs to grab their nuts and take it like the pvp community had for the past 3 years of unbalanced PVE changes that absolutely changed pvp 180 degrees.

Stop crying a river the moment pvp changes are mentioned.
No one is going to stop you from doing your dungeons and raids with your guilds, your pve gear will still look the same.
    - Httassadar 80 pvp 7 tos tyranny
    - Fatherbinder 80 pvp 7 pom tyranny

You're the one doing most of the complaining....

You're getting unchained. How is that not enough?
