Thread: REH novella are freed!

  1. #1

    Default REH novella are freed!

    http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/sear...obert+e+howard

Someone's (re)uploading the books in a rather clean format. Kudo's to whomever that is. It looks to be a work in progress as well judging by the date's (Red Nails being only couple of days ago).

Oh, and they appear to be the originals, unedited. I haven't confirmed this though.

    Nice find!

I originally found a lot, but not all, the works on an AoC wiki.

As an example, I found Slithering Shadow on http://aoc.wikia.com/wiki/The_Slithering_Shadow_(REH).

There is also a printed centenary version containing all and fragments out, even though REH hasn't been dead that long.

    Hi,

I think you might be referring to The Complete Chronicles of Conan: Centenary Edition by Gollanz which was published in 2006 to mark the centenary of REH's birth in 1906.

Proud owner of that edition too But it's a big and heavy volume so I'm happy that they are coming to gutenberg (I'm starting to love ebooks ever since I got an iPhone as the Retina display makes reading even tiny characters really easy).

And Jovana I'm surprised you didn't read them before, GET TO IT NAW

Maybe it's some new/prettier version, but Gutenberg had those at least since 2008

I grabbed them in txt format in 2009 as they were supposedly "director's cut".

Yeah I still have the bunch from then, but they weren't formatted very well. Even these new one's have a huge number of spelling errors from the scanning picture-to-text process, so are probably the same ones, just someone cleaned them up. Still good quick reads on FBReader on a big phone.
