Thread: Easiest classes to play..

Easiest class with no time to learn the game? Priest or ranger. Reason: no combos. One click instant dps. Why a priest (pom or tos) because they can self heal. WHy a ranger: decent dps and distance, easy to run away. BTW, the tos only has 2 dps spells through a third of the game, single button. Cant get much easier than that.

If time to learn the game: conq. Bubbles and health and dps and.... Guard because of polearm reach, dps, armor and health. I never died on my guard.

since the loss of comboskip, i dont see how using melee combos skills on static pve mobs is anymore involving than casting different spells, it's actually less dynamic and always the same direction.

click combo skill, click arrow direction, watch your character play until animation is over. (melee)

click spell skill, click another spell skill, click another spell skill. (caster)

there is more difference between classes in good usage of all their micromanagement: aggro tools, healing, buffs, debuffs and cc's.

gear, aa, spec and basic rotation most casual players will copy paste does the rest.

to answer the op for easiest solo pve experience before lv80 and AA covering all archetypes: tempest guardian (polearm weapon), brute conqueror (2 handed edge/blunt weapon), vengeance priest of mitra, ranger, demonologist and necromancer.

ToS gotta be easiest. Use stormfield and then any that is on cooldown that can be used while stormfield is up. Isnt getting any easier than that imo.

Other than that all classes have their flavor and it is really what you want to do in the game that should determine what class you should choose.

You will do substantial damage on all healer classes but the three have distincly different flavors:

Priest of Mitra, as i described it above.

Bear shaman is a frontline healer with a big hammer. Great dpser in the right hands. Lots of buffs and micro management making it a very active class.

Tempest of Set fires lightning and thunder bolts at the enemies while grudgingly accepts the task of sharing some blessings from Set to the rest of the team because it gives more time to kill more enemies. To me personally it isn't as active as the others but it deals a lot of aoe damage and some instances require a ToS to finish it.

    Rogues:
Assassins: My main is an assassin and i love the play style, but levelling it was frankly a pain sometimes. I did it when i was new to the game and hence i didn't know which mobs to attack and got swarmed a LOT. At low levels the assassin is as squishy as a fistfull of whipped cream. Unless you make for single targets when you will shine. Fights are over in three seconds, you win... or you resurrect and run back...

Rangers and Barbarians are my two least favorite classes tbh. I just never fell in love with them. A barb has its cc abilities using a 2 hander, but other than that... everything a dual wield barbarian can do these days, a dual wield conqueror can do better.

    Soldiers:
Conqueror was my first character and for a long time i let it sit there at 80 while i was off backstabbing. Today it is one of my most played toons. I have a blast with Scythie and seamlessly going between pure DPS and sturdy tank is a lot of fun. As a tank you need to be a bit on your toes as you don't mitigate as well as a Guardian or regenerate health as well as the Dark Templars, but you have hands down the best protective bubbles in the game at your disposal.

Guardians will soak up a rediculous amount of damamge. As others have said here in the thread i suggest going with a polearm while levelling but learn to play sword an board because it is the better group tank. More aggro utilities and crowd controls make it more useful.

The Dark Templar is a very different beast. Leechin mana and health back from the enemies. Relies of heavyily on gear and on a level 80 730 hour time trained perk called Void of madness to really shine. BUt it is fun to play and there are a lot going on with it.

    Mages:
HoX... what can i say. Fire and a big big sword. Can't go wrong with that! Oh and you turn yourself to a demon as well. Fun to play hard to be great at. But great HoXes are never out of work...

Demo. Well you blow stuff up. You burn things down. You cook, barbecue and roast things to your hearts content... and Sets content i think. It is on the surface an easy class to get a grip on. BUt the difference between a player that facerolls and a player that actually can play the class substantial to say the least.

Necro. There are a lot of things going on here. PLay with pets or without pets. Mage pets, melee pets. What pets to use where against what boss and so on. You bring your own tank along so the mobs will focus on that instead of you so you can kill it easily. Fun!

There you have my very subjective views on the classes. I am sure people disagree with some things. BUt that is really what is cool about the classes in this game, none are one trick ponies really. Well except assassins.. they backstab... and die... a lot.

    Pick something fun!

Wow, nice post. It was very helpful. I switched to a conq and am having a blast. I'm a little confused about some things but I'm bugging some conqs for help. My friend is also a conq. Should be interesting. I am loving the fatalities and smack things.

Thanks again everyone for tips and suggestions.

Easy, That'd be necro IMO. you dont even need hands to pwn just roll your face on the keyboard and you win.

If you want fun, personally I find the Conq and Bear the most fun to play, followed by DT > Demo > Sin > ToS.

You need to think more along your play style, if you like to be in the middle of the fight getting whacked on (hehe) or at a safe distance dpsing hard, or taking a risk getting the drop in the E and dropping him before he even knows you're there.

All classes are easy PvE. But if you take leveling into account: Sin, Ranger, and Guard are attrocious to level. Ranger does crap dps, sin tends to get tore up with more than 2 mobs, and guard does slow dps until you gear it out. I'll even add PoM to the list because how horrible mana is, a few spells and your out.

Every other class can take on mutliple adds and live just fine. ToS and Demo are exceptionaly easy to level and progress end game. Necro is fairly easy as well but have a lack of CC's for solo grinds in my opinion. Shammy and Conq are incredibly tough, and you can pull a crap of mobs and live. DT is kind of meh until later levels, but once you start end game content and get AA with them they become beasts. Zerker specced barbs are pretty easy as well, but you'll have some trouble if you pull to much in reaver.

I had the most fun leveling my demo, and it's still the only toon I play consistently today.

I still think tos more so because of its insane pve damage and ccs. It seemed to take forever on my ranger and guard to get to 80 versus my tos. The sin was pretty rough for me as I would die instantly. At least the tos can drop sand and run and heal.

I've tried most classes up to at least 39. So far I found Demo the easiset to play but that's just because I always play casters in previous MMOs. One problem with demo at 80 is it can be frustrating. Being a clothie its a free kill to hiding gankers. Ranger is fairly straight foward too.

For malee, guardian is pretty easy but I find it slow. Hox is prob the most faceroll at lower lvls. Just run AOE run AOE target dead. Most fun malee for me has to be sin. If you take away the opening from stealth I'd say in 1v1 duels sin is probably the toughest class to grasp so I would not recomend this one for being easy however its faceroll from hide. Conq is awesome class, great mechanics and nice long combo range. Lots of utilty and just downright fun. Barb is perhaps easier version of sin which relies bit more on control rather than landing burst. Rest of classes I don't know yet. Pom looks powerfull.

SO untrue. Iv tried it, and all i did was pop a few pots, did a fart emote, and went into hide. Thats not a pawn, or even a win. Although it made dealing with the fart easier.
