Dear RPers,

for the whole month of April, we will have a server-wide event going on. Everyone is welcome to use this chance to unfold or add some spice to their character's stories or developements (participation is not mandatory!).

The story will begin on April 1st, when a ship from Khitai docks in Tortage. Their vessel is apprehended by the Red Hand and disallowed to leave port due to Strom's law; their goods are also mostly taken for their regime.

What no one knew is that the vessel contained vermin infected with a terrible khitan illness, which will roam freely on the island, spreading their effect on local food and townspeople. This food or people might escape through the local smuggler, spreading the illness to other regions of Hyboria.

These are the stages of the illness (you may have one, some or all of these, depending on how you see fit for your character):

Lowest level of infection
- lack of concentration
- blurry vision
- metallic taste on the mouth
- tiredness

Illness in developement
- cold sweat
- dizzy spells (fainting)
- shivers
- pale skin
- lack of appetite
- pimples appearing on the skin

Advanced stage of illness
- spasms
- skin ulcer all over the body
- vomiting blood
- coma and/or death

The basic rules of the illness are:
1. It takes approximatedly one RL week to move to the next step (day up or down, up to you).
2. It is contagious. Whether your character falls ill to it or not is up to you, however any contact with the blood from someone affected by the grey pest will mean your character will also become inevitably ill. (Please try not to abuse this!)

Our special "town crier" will be giving a couple of specific anouncements to this event on NPH that will change every week. Even though there is an specific cure for this illness that you can try to find out, if there is no apothecary around feel free to find your own cure if needed.

If you wish to help, you may lend a hand as an apothecary, shaman or priest giving tips and hints as to how to handle the cure. You can contact me for more information.

If you have any question please feel free to post on this thread. Special thanks to Rishis and Mitridatesh for co-developing this event!

Hope you have fun with this event and enjoy!

Gabriela
