Lag spikes
The issue is known and being analyzed.
In the meantime, try resetting your Router, reconnect your internet connection and disable anything that uses your internet (especially downloads and p2p).
This should at least rule yourself out as the cause of any lag.

Driver cleaning...
- Download the latest driver onto your local disk.
- Download and install driver sweeper.
- Uninstall your graphics card drivers (do NOT use driver sweeper, yet. use the Windows' Controlpanel to un-install the drivers)
- Reboot into safe mode.
- Press F8 (repeatedly) while the windows loading screen is showing
- If the above doesn't work, reset (usually you have a little "Reset" button on your PC, but pulling the plug works as well) your PC while the windows loading screen is showing
- You should come to a screen where it offers you different start options, select "safe mode". (doesn't really matter which)
- Run DriverSweeper.
- Select ATi drivers, NVIDIA Display drivers and AGEIA PhysX (no matter what card you have, select all 3. do NOT select "NVIDIA - Chipset").
- Click "Analyze", then clean up all drivers.
- Click on Options, then back on Home and repeat the process 2-3 times.
- Reboot into windows normally.
- Cancel any driver-installation Windows might attempt...
- Install the latest driver.

These are taken from old old forums, made by zeroflag (dated december 2008).
Since this is a dynamic thread, I am willing to update these posts where relevant (and given you give me the information to update this with).
I just realized this is a very big task. Not just a simple copy/paste thread. Some of the information is outdated (such as OS choice and solutions). So bear with me as this is a work in progress. And will be for as long as I care ;-)

I am not going to put that in the bug report in the suggestion forum, as I do not know full details; but several users have encountered problems in Conall's Valley: graphics are absolutely broken there, and people appear below landscape.
Solution: it appears that fresh installations of RDB files might have this bug. Downloading old RDB files from older installation (torrents) or copying them over from previous computers and then patching them to the current version solves the problem.

Note: only old RDB files help. Downloading new RDB files does not solve it.

Anyway i would hate to think people re-installing their game and finding out it doesn't help.
For some other problems ...some don't even exist anymore do they?
In consept this is a good thread but i would hope the facts are valid and up-to-date.
