Conan the Adventurer

I've recently started watching Conan the Adventurer, the cartoon series from the early 90s.

Once you get around the initial stupidity of Conan having superpowers because of his star-metal sword, which does not slay serpent-men but banishes them to the Abyss by touch in a shower of sparkly lights, it isn't quite as awful as you think. Within the limits of the initial and inane premise, they do manage to use a fair amount of lore -- I notice references to the Roy Thomas comic books as well as to REH -- fairly intelligently. Many of the episodes are well written: better than He-Man at any rate.

You should watch Conan the Series. It happens to star a variety of what seems to be soft core porn stars. It's entertaining to me :)

I used to sing the themesong to motivate co-workers prelaunch. I also included it in a couple of my internal presentations about the expansion.

Cartoon was a long way off base but that theme song was amazing!

What was stupid about the series, it was just extremely low budget. I have seen far worse crap on the TV at 3:00 am than Conan, and it did pay some attention to howard lore, although not much. The series was not meant to be serious at all, it's just entertainment.

As far as crap for dumb boys, watch Xena seasons 4-6, it's basically Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Conner displaying themselves in less and less clothes with a constant lesbian undertone, then you get into the late amazon episodes where there is like 30 half naked women running around...

There's lots of crap on TV, most of it is called reality tv. Conan the series is about 5 steps more entertaining than sh!t like jerseyshore or the hills...

ahhh. i loved that show as a kid
