Low GFX Textures in *High*

I have the game maxed out in DX 10 and it's stuttery and unstable so I am trying to use DX9 which works great... Except for days it will just NOT load up any of the high textures.

Armour, ground, etc etc will randomly just be terrible "less than lowest" textures.

Tick boxes and Apply on the client do nothing and the in game settings change nothing

Any ideas greatly appreciated without the looks of the game itself this isn't worth playing :\

if i manually click Low, Medium, High, Raid PVP then back to High and adjust the view distances and shader setting it will load the high settings....

Until I zone anywhere and it reverts to full low texture quality :\

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics drivers?

Try to delete two big shader files from the Age of Conan root directory.

somehow the game was smooth yesterday, now i am getting the textures but the game is juddery and there's like .5-1 second delay on anything...
