Spell Rotation TIP :

Many players if solo will precast their HoTs, use smite to pull and then follow up with a burst of damage, repulse the mobs to allow the HoTs to recover any lost health, reapply the HoTs and burst again.

EoL>WoL>Smite>Smite>Rebuke>Cleansing Fire>Repulse>Lance>EoL>WoL>Rebuke>Cleansing Fire>Lance

If you have divinity only build you would not cast Cleansing Fire and if you have a vengeance only build you would not cast Lance.

At 40 it is possible that you have selected the Purification of Mitra feat. This changes the rotation somewhat. One example would be

SPELLWEAVING:

At 50, you gain the ability to Spellweave. Once activated, you will become immobile and your Stamina begins to drain. If your stamina runs out, you take damage. There are 6 Stages, each giving more powerful buffs to your spells. Mouseover on the Icon to see them. When you go up a stage or you have luck while casting, a menu will pop up. There you can select between 5 short-duration buffs:

Arcane Renewal - Restores 199 stamina every 3 sec.
Arcane Surge - You deal max dmg.
Mitras Grace - You gain 10% mana-tap.
Mitras Thunder - Smite and Rebuke have a knockback-effect.
Benevolence of Mitra - +15 dmg deflect

Those buffs can misfire, giving you the opposite effect. There are also other random minor debuffs afflicting you while Spellweaving.

What Spellweaving mainly does is boost your damage. At Stage 6, you deal double damage. Spellweaving for PoM is a Raid-tool. You won't find many uses for it elsewhere, especially not in PvP or solo PvE. In raiding it might not always be the best option, there is a mana drain debuff that you can get when you are in spellweave. If you get that debuff you tend to have big mana issues, without spellweaving the mana management is difficult enough.

Wasn't the mana-tap 15%?

The mana tap has been increased to 15% since the revamp. This is the main reason I spellweave on my POM, that and Mitra Thunder for cc-ing adds.

Also Arcane Renewal gives 6 "current energy" per tick iirc instead of stamina. Not sure how many seconds of SW that grants.

I never heard of any weaving buff "misfiring". Instead, the random debuffs sometimes do not "combo" with those buffs (e.g. self damage on smite/rebuke with mitra thunder). Arcane draught debuff (min damage on all spells) is cancelled if you grab the opposite buff Arcane surge.

(Lots of outdated stuff in the original posts I fear - triple damage on undead for searing eye, old defense buff (was that pre 1.5 ?); also information on lower ranks of spells is not that useful - great initiative but requires some cleaning up !)

a) when your team mates are crowded around the enemy it will quickly melt them (in PvE it will cause massive aggro)

b) when you or your team are getting massive hits from poison/unholy or other types of magic
